Cracks in the concrete garage slab can be an indicator of underlying soil settlement or issues with the concrete itself. The photos below show examples of such cracking, relative movement between the driveway and garage slab, and “efflorescence” (chemicals in the soil attacking the concrete, causing a white powdery substance or discoloration on the surface).
